George Jones Majolica storks & swallows garden seat

Victorian, circa 1860. 17.5ins high, 11ins diameter across top. George Jones Majolica barrel-shaped garden seat.
Decorated with storks and swallows within a pond landscape of white lilies and foliage on cobalt ground.





Brown basketweave seat top with cut away handle.



Mottled green and brown interior.

Condition

Generally good. No restoration. No cracks.

Two tight hairlines and a bruise to the top from handle.









No chips.

Some wear to the top, exterior cobalt ground and base.















Flake to base.



Kiln effects: glaze pops to the base;


glaze misses to the underside edge.
