Pair Staffordshire cats on cushions

Victorian, circa 1870. 5ins high. Pair Staffordshire cats seated on pink and green cushion bases. Yellow and black sponged coats. Orange ribbon tied around necks.





Small vent hole to underside of left facing.

Condition

Good.

Right facing: Small flake to left ear, above left eye and behind right ear.





Small paint loss to green cushion.



Kiln effect: touch mark to front.



Repaired firing crack to both sides.





Repair to one ear.



Retouching to paint losses.



Restored chip to one ear.



Left facing: Small paint loss to pink cushion.



Kiln effects: a few touch marks;





a couple of glaze craters to one side;



some stray orange glaze to reverse.



Repaired firing crack to chest and one side of base.
